Tiltrotators & Powerdig Series Expected to Be a Big Hit at Expo

As excitement builds for the 2017 Diesel, Dirt & Turf Expo in Penrith, NSW, some exhibitors are already hinting of big plans for this event. Doherty Couplers and Attachments recently introduced the Steelwrist tiltrotator to its range as well as the high spec’d new Powerdig series. Both are expected to be a hit at the April 2017 expo.

Steelwrist tiltrotators are world-renowned for their power and durability. In conjunction with the Snaplock+ coupler, Doherty is expecting the collaborative solution will be a real eye-opener for visitors to the Expo.

“The Steelwrist tiltrotator with the Doherty Snaplock+ Coupler is the most technologically advanced yet user-friendly tiltrotator available in the market,” explains Doherty Australia Key Account Manager, Damien Gow. “The new combined unit will be a big step forward for the industry.”

As an independent unit, the tiltrotators deliver precision and smoothness as well as rotation and tilt functions. Combined with the Snaplock+ Coupler the total system facilitates productivity and versatility, allowing operators to take on a much wider variety of projects without changing attachments.

"The world leading Xcontrol system from Steelwrist is full of interactive features that deliver operators the ability to customise settings at the touch of a button,” adds Gow. “This ensures their excavator is operating as efficiently and economically as possible, saving them valuable time and money.”

Steelwrist tiltrotators are available for all machines from 1.5-32 tonne weight class and have the option of an S-type coupler base or Snaplock+ coupler base, both of which are fully compliant to Australian Standard AS4772-2008 and the NSW WorkCover position paper.

Doherty is also receiving significant interest in its recently launched Powerdig buckets. Designed to maximise breakout and minimise fuel usage, the shape of the Powerdig Series cuts through the ground with minimal resistance while the deep, double-radius design achieves maximum payload.

As Gow explains, “The unique shape means you can actually fill the bucket to 100% capacity so the result is a bucket which digs faster and reduces fuel consumption.”

Based in New Zealand with a wholly owned subsidiary in Australia, Doherty is also one of the few manufacturers globally to offer quick couplers fully-compliant to Australian standard AS4772-208, European EN474 standard, expected forthcoming ISO international standards and all major contractor policies. The Snaplock+ coupler’s feature is its Dual Pin Locking (DPL) system ensuring attachments remain securely engaged on both pins in the event of loss of engagement force.
